A St. Louis native, Terri grew up in Clayton and graduated from the University of Missouri—Columbia after attending Villa Duchesne (in case you’re a St. Louis native wondering where she went to high school).
She went into real estate directly out of college, joining Janet McAfee and developing extensive experience across all aspects of the business... from residential sales to property management services to leasing Class A commercial office buildings, and specializing in the St Louis central corridor.
During her tenure in the Senior Living Industry, where she helped seniors find their perfect apartment in higher end communities, Terri was asked to join the boards of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, Professionals in Retirement Community Living (PRCL), and the Continuum of Care Marketing Association (COCMA).
Why Home Watch STL?
As sales counselors in senior living communities, Terri and Linda heard time and again of families—as many as one in three—having to sell an elderly loved one’s home “as-is” because maintenance had fallen short over the years, resulting in a long list of necessary repairs.
Terri and Linda saw the problem not just for the loss in sales value to the family but more importantly the safety concerns for the seniors living in the unmaintained properties.
They began to conceptualize a service to help these seniors maintain their homes, and realized that what they envisioned could have a much broader reach, helping homeowners of all ages as well as snowbirds, seasonal homeowners, professionals, and realtors.
Now certified and members of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA) and professionally trained by the International Home Watch Association (IHWA), they look forward to helping you, whether it’s a watchful eye for maintenance needs or someone to manage your home or property while you’re away.
Terri has helped my deal with, and rent my houses for years. she is easy to work with, and always follows through. and since I am 2000 miles away from most of these transactions, she makes it easy. I would highly recommend her.
I recently sold my home, and needed someone to be at my house to allow inspectors, and my handyman in, etc. I wasn't sure how to do it, but Home Watch STL helped a ton. I was completely comfortable having them at my house to open the door and watch over my house. Very friendly, on time, and always informed me of when someone came by. If you are going on vacation, working a bunch....this is a great company to use.
I have recently used Home Watch STL services. They were extremely kind, ontime, and made me feel very comfortable doing what I had to do while they took care of my home. It's an easy, safe service to use. Thank you Home Watch STL! Highly recommend.
What should I ask when interviewing a Home Watch company?
Be sure to ask, "What is your back up plan if you are sick?"
